• 1322 - First mentioned in town charter as mining village mining silver and iron
• 1525 - Town destroyed following peasants and miners revolution.

• 1953 - First ski lift on Planai
• 1982 - Alpine Ski World Cup Championships at Schladming/Haus
• 1993 - Special Olympic Winter Games
• 1998 - New 4 Mountain linked lift system.
