Schladming

About Schladming

Now host to the most popular single World Cup Race, Schladming held its annual night slalom last year in January watched by over 50000. This seasons event will be held on the 26th January so keep an eye out. The men's downhill run on the Planai and the women's downhill course on the Hauser Kaibling are excellent for the speed lover and recreational skier alike and work is underway to develop the new courses for the 2013 World Championships.

Your instructors will happily advise on the suitability of these for your group. Usually after the first morning assessment and split.

The most popular skiing is based around the 4 mountains closest to Schladming. These really do cater for all levels and abilities, from the novices on the nursery slopes of the Hochwurzen, through the intermediate on the tree lined pistes of Planai and Reiteralm, to the advanced mogul and powder bashers on the Hauser Kaibling mountain. There is also extensive skiing across the valley in the Ramsau region, which also provides easy access for the Dachstein Glacier and extensive cross-country skiing. Add a number of half-pipes and dedicated fun parks for the adventurous boarders/free-style skiers, plus 5 other mountains to choose from little wonder Schladming is the ski paradise region!
